Finally some walking
On Sunday 1st March Martin and Ant completed another 26mile trek from the start point Airville School in Skipton to Horton in Ribbensdale. A monster of a walk that starts fairly easy taking in the canal from skipton to Gargrave. We the pick up the pennine way all the way to Horton taking in Mallham cove (the steps of DOOM!), malham tarn, and on to Penny ghent. Let me tell you the last thing you need after 22 miles is to walk up there. At this point on penny ghent you still have a massive 40 miles to walk and by the time i got the the bottom i could barly walk to the bar! More training is need! We head to a trailtrekker meeting this weekend hosted at Aireville school in skipton at 10.00am. There talk of a walk after but i think a pub lunch is more deserved.
Good times
1. the great pace meant we completed the 26 miles in 8hrs 45mins beating our 3 peaks time by 15mins. This also means we are we within our objective of completing the walk within our objective time of 24hours.
2. Recovery the next day is quick.
3.Timing to perfection the finish so that we only had to watch the penalty shoot out in the cup final.
4. Rhinos game on in the Horton pub
Bad times
2. the walking boots are a gonner and have been thrown due to massive holes in the sides
3. Man U beating spurs in the peno shoot out!
4. Rhinos loosing and not being able to see at the sky in the pub cut out after 10 mins. DO YOU KNOW HOW FAR I HAVE WALKED TO WATCH THIS!!!!!!
