Snow more!

Well, we did the walk yesterday and it was gruelling!! I'm sure pro walkers wouldn't have found it so bad but you have to remember we're pretty casual compared to some.

We arrived in Malham just before midday, dropped off by our support crew of Katie and Nats (Martin and Ant's better halves). It looked like a lovely day for a walk but little did we know what awaited us, even though it was staring down from the picturesque peaks.

The three of us; Ant, Martin and myself found the first part of the walk pretty easy, Malham Cove got the thighs burning and then winding around the tarn was simple enough but then we hit the slope that stood between us and Pen-y-ghent.

We could see snow on the peaks but didn't really think much of it, never again will we see it in such a naive way. Climbing the 3-miles up that slope in snow that often came over our knees was one of the hardest tasks we'd ever taken on!
